The Department of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai Queens offers the latest treatments of musculoskeletal conditions provided by an experienced, caring medical staff in an excellent community hospital setting where patients receive individualized attention.

Our physicians are skilled at diagnosing orthopaedic conditions and prescribing customized treatments plans for each case. We do joint replacements and treat fractures, sprains, and strains, as well as sports injuries and chronic pain resulting from carpal tunnel and other conditions. We treat knees, hips, spines, shoulders, elbows, hands, and feet.

Orthopaedic Treatments

Patients are often treated with medication, injections, or rehabilitation, including physical therapy. When surgery is necessary, it is often performed using minimally invasive techniques on an ambulatory basis and patients return home the same day. This leads to faster recovery time, less pain, and less likelihood of complications.

We perform arthroscopy and all types of joint replacement surgery and do several hip and knee replacement surgeries daily. Research has shown that full recovery is dependent on successful rehabilitation; so, immediately following any orthopedic surgery, patients are assessed and physical rehabilitation begins as soon as the patient is medically cleared for rehab.

Our treatments include the following:

  • Arthrocentesis
  • Arthroscopy
  • Biopsy
  • Bunion Removal
  • Carpal Tunnel Injection
  • Carpal Tunnel Release
  • Fracture Repair
  • Hammer Toe Correction
  • Ingrown Toenail Removal
  • Joint replacements: knee, hip, shoulder, elbow
  • Laminectomy
  • Rotator Cuff Repair
  • Spinal Fusion

Comprehensive Care

There is close communication between our doctors, physician assistants, nursing staff, and our Rehabilitation Department to ensure that patients are getting the care and support they need. Our physical therapists work with patients seven days a week to help them regain full mobility and to help them transition from the hospital to home or to a sub-acute rehabilitation facility as quickly as possible.

Our patients benefit from having their orthopedic conditions treated in a small but highly professional hospital, where patient-centered care and safety is our primary objective. They are treated by an experienced staff comprised of qualified doctors; expert physician assistants; nurses; and a friendly, compassionate staff that facilitates the entire experience. Our patients report good outcomes and high levels of patient satisfaction. At Mount Sinai Queens, our goal is to minimize pain and maximize our patients’ function, mobility, and independence.
