Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery
The skilled surgeons at Mount Sinai Queens perform many minimally invasive and traditional procedures to treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions affecting the ears, nose, and throat. These include chronic sinusitis, nasal obstructions, nasal polyps, deviated septum, dysphagia, and sleep apnea, as well as chronic otitis media (middle ear infection) and allergy and immunologic disorders. We also perform vocal cord procedures to remove lesions such as polyps and small vocal cord cancers and to treat hoarseness from vocal cord paralysis. Our otolaryngologists are experienced in treating professional voice disorders and offer personalized medical and surgical care for singers and public speakers, in addition to performing minor head and neck procedures.
When possible, procedures are performed with endoscopic surgery, using tiny incisions or through natural openings within the ear, nose, and throat. This results in less bleeding, less pain and faster healing than traditional, open procedures. Most techniques performed by our ear, nose, and throat surgeons are done on an ambulatory basis and patients go home to recuperate the same day.
All our patients benefit from experienced, board certified surgeons and anesthesiologists and a patient-focused staff that attends to patients after surgery.
