Each year in the United States, an estimated 350,000 people die of sudden cardiac arrest. While companies often train employees in CPR, survival rates are as low as 1.4 percent. An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a device that recognizes a heart rhythm that requires an electrical shock and can increase survival rates to between 50 and 80 percent. AED's are small, simple to use, and extremely reliable. With proper training and support, companies use them to protect their employees, clients, and visitors against sudden cardiac arrest.
In 1998 New York State passed legislation supporting the use of AED's by businesses, commercial and residential properties, and in any place where people congregate. Workplace Wellness has designed an innovative service that provides our clients with a safe and effective AED program.
