Mount Sinai Queens celebrates EMS Week
Mount Sinai Queens holds the 19th annual EMS Week Dinner
Mount Sinai Queens held a special celebration for National Emergency Services Week on Thursday, June 19 at Queens’ Terrace on the Park. The dinner honored FDNY EMS stations 45, 46 and 49, who serve Mount Sinai Queens Emergency Department.
Honored at the dinner were employees of the year from each station, as well as day and night shift workers from the Mount Sinai Queens Emergency Department. The honorees from the EMS stations were EMT Siewarine Persad from Battalion 45, EMT Robert Brzezinski from Battalion 46, and Lieutenant James Furlong from Battalion 49. From Mount Sinai Queens Emergency Department, the honorees were RN Evelyn Guevarra and PA Dahlia John.
The festivities began with a processional and performance by the FDNY EMS Pipes and Drums Band, dressed in all their finery.
2011 EMS week is celebrated across the nation with the theme “Everyday Heroes” and here in New York City with Offering Second Chances. This is the 19th year that Mount Sinai Queens has held this celebration.
