Bullying in school is said to be the leading cause of suicide in persons aged 11 to 16, Mount Sinai Queens Marketing Director Shelley Felder said in opening a panel discussion on bullying last Thursday. After noting that there are "startling statistics" on the topic, she turned the meeting over to Dr. Joseph Bertilino of Queens College, who expressed fears that bullying has "escalated" of late. Dr. Bertilino moderated a panel with Christopher Clemens, MD, a pediatrician at Mount Sinai Queens, before an audience that included adults and teenagers. - Dr. Christopher Clemens, Family Healthcare, Mount Sinai Queens - Shelly Felder, Marketing Director, Mount Sinai Queens
